Lagovuveri is the Sicilian name of the Biviere Lake, recognized as Natural Reserve, so borrowing this dialectal word we’ve named our wine company.
Our company arise thanks to the centuries Sicilian tradition of grape farming. Following the teaching of our forefathers, we’ve decided to grow the vineyards using ancient techniques that are handed down the generations. We use the technology to serve the tradition so we want to consider ourselves as the keepers of our identity, shielding the knowledge, experiences and love for our land. We decided to follow the ancestral rhythms of nature going along with its rules, we also intend to protect it and not to bend it to the logic of production.
Organic farming for us means more than no-using chemicals, instead be helpful for the improvement and differentiation of local biodiversity so ensuring the maintaining a good balance of the different animal and vegetable species. Our vineyards are located close to a lake within a natural reserve, named Riserva Naturale Orientata Biviere di Gela, and several of them reach the shores of the lake.
